Product updates
What's shipped on the site—new data coverage, lookup tools, and sourcing. For changes to the Medicare rates themselves, see fee schedule changes by release.
-
Free accounts now have bookmarks
Free teams can bookmark up to 10 CPT or HCPCS codes, track up to 10 Medicare payment localities, and price every pair in one reusable grid. Grid cells can be saved as calculations or opened as one-year price-history graphs covering the current release and four prior quarters.
-
Search result previews show national rates inline
Site search (press / or click Search) now shows the current Medicare rate under each code—the national Office (non-facility) and Facility amount, or the contractor-priced range for a carrier-priced code. Opening search with nothing typed shows a shortlist of popular codes, already priced, instead of an empty box.
-
Data notes for substituted and stale rates
Rate lookups now fall back to the nearest prior release instead of 404ing when a quarter has no file, and disclose the substitution with a stable, structured note instead of silence. CLFS lab-rate pages carry the same note when the latest ingested release trails the current quarter. Each note distinguishes a CMS-published gap from our own ingest lag, and the API echoes a data_quality field so a caller can branch on it.
-
Novitas JH carrier-priced coverage (Texas and six other states)
Added source-linked carrier-priced amounts for Novitas Solutions jurisdiction H—Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas—15 publishing localities and over 11,000 fee rows, bringing total coverage to 63 publishing localities across three contractors.
-
Current carrier-priced MAC coverage map
Added a source-backed map and publishing-locality directory for the carrier-priced schedules currently on file: 48 publishing localities across 19 states and territories. The page also names the historical boundary—contractor, locality, and ZIP mappings can change, and MAC ZIP-as-of lookup is not yet supported.
-
First Coast Florida carrier-priced history
Added immutable, source-linked First Coast schedules for Florida Areas 03, 04, and 99 from 2022 through 2025: 12 schedules and 9,126 fee rows. Current Puerto Rico and U.S. Virgin Islands coverage remains available; their inconsistent older archives were deliberately not backfilled.
-
Carrier-priced Medicare amounts across three jurisdictions
Added source-linked carrier-priced amounts for Original Medicare Part B across Noridian JE/JF and First Coast JN (Florida, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands), now covering 48 publishing localities with weekly source checks for corrected workbooks. ZIP lookup selects the publishing locality; team watchlists calculate quarterly and retroactive impact, and the methodology names every supported and unsupported pricing rule.
-
Contract offer workbench
Added a private, stateless workbench for comparing a 5–50-code payer offer against your own volume-weighted mix, current or vintage Medicare, and available state Medicaid fee schedules.
-
Search now covers specialties, glossary, and localities
Site search (press / or click Search) now also matches specialty hubs, glossary and guide pages, the locality directory—including your own ZIP code—and CMS source pages, grouped by category alongside code results.
-
Search now understands plain-language descriptions
The site search (press / or click Search) now finds codes from a plain-language description, not just a code—try knee replacement or laceration alongside exact CPT/HCPCS lookups.
-
Richer state-map tooltips
Hovering or focusing a state on the by-state rate maps now shows its amount range and locality count, not just a plain browser tooltip.
-
Most-billed CPT codes hub
Added a hub ranking the most-billed CPT codes by CMS utilization data, linked from every code page.
-
HCPCS Level II codes moved to their own URLs
HCPCS Level II codes now live under /hcpcs/ instead of being mixed into /cpt/ pages.
-
Payer benchmark pages
Added payer fee-schedule benchmarks sourced from payers' machine-readable files, so you can compare a payer's contracted rate against the Medicare rate.
-
Texas Medicaid rates
Added Texas Medicaid fee-for-service rates alongside Medicare PFS, with state-specific code pages.
-
Team accounts
Added team accounts so billing and RCM groups can share one account and plan.
-
Claim-edit check endpoint
Added a claims-check API endpoint that flags MPPR, NCCI PTP, and MUE edits before you submit a claim.
-
Rate-history chart
Added a rate-history chart to code pages showing how a code's payment has moved release over release.
-
Glossary and guides index
Added a glossary and guides index with inline reference calculators for RVU, GPCI, and conversion-factor math.
-
Claim-level source citations
Added claim-level source citations backed by a shared source registry, so every dollar amount links back to the exact CMS file and row it came from.
-
Public API docs and ZIP-to-locality endpoints
Published a public API docs page and added endpoints for resolving a ZIP code to its Medicare payment locality.
-
CMS's own revisions surfaced
The rate-history table now shows CMS's mid-quarter release revisions, not just quarter-to-quarter changes.
