# CPT 99454

> Medicare paid $63.16 for CPT 99454 in the office (non-facility) setting and $63.16 in a facility under the Q2 2021 Physician Fee Schedule, effective April 2021. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2021, when it increased 1.2%.

## What it is

Covers giving the patient a connected medical device that records readings at home and sends them automatically to the practice — a blood pressure cuff, a scale, a glucose meter, or a pulse oximeter, for example. The service is the device itself plus the transmission of data over a thirty-day stretch, not anyone's time spent looking at the readings, which is reported separately. The device has to be sending data regularly rather than sitting unused for the period to count.
