# CPT 99292

> Medicare paid $123.23 for CPT 99292 in the office (non-facility) setting and $112.48 in a facility under the Q3 2014 Physician Fee Schedule, effective July 2014. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment.

## What it is

Further critical care time on the same calendar day, once the block of time covered by the primary critical care code has been used up. It is counted in additional half-hour increments and is always reported alongside that primary code, never on its own. It exists so that a patient who needs hours of continuous physician attention is accounted for accurately rather than capped at the first code.
