# CPT 95810

> Medicare paid $638.99 for CPT 95810 in the office (non-facility) setting and $638.99 in a facility under the Q4 2018 Physician Fee Schedule, effective October 2018. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2018, when it increased 1.2%.

## What it is

A full night's sleep study in a sleep laboratory for a patient aged roughly school-age or older. Sensors record brain waves, eye movement and chin muscle tone to score the stages of sleep, plus several further channels - airflow at the nose and mouth, chest and abdominal effort, blood oxygen, heart rhythm and leg movement. A technologist stays in the building through the night, watching the signals and fixing sensors that come loose, which is what makes it an attended study rather than a home test. This is the diagnostic recording only; the companion code adds a breathing-pressure treatment trial during the same night.
