# CPT 93971

> Medicare paid $114.63 for CPT 93971 in the office (non-facility) setting and $114.63 in a facility under the Q4 2014 Physician Fee Schedule, effective October 2014. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment.

## What it is

The same combined imaging-and-Doppler vein study of an arm or leg, but done on one side only or restricted to part of the limb. It answers a narrower question than the full bilateral exam - for example checking just the leg that hurts, or re-checking a segment that was abnormal on an earlier scan. The technique at the probe is identical; the difference is how much territory is covered.
