## What it is

The narrower version of the Doppler waveform add-on to a heart ultrasound. Instead of sampling flow across all the relevant valves and chambers, the study records velocities at one or two specific points - typically to recheck a gradient already on record, or to settle a single question raised by the images. The technique is identical to the complete Doppler study; only the extent of the examination differs.
