# CPT 93018

> Medicare paid $14.68 for CPT 93018 in the office (non-facility) setting and $14.68 in a facility under the Q3 2016 Physician Fee Schedule, effective July 2016. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2016, when it decreased 0.3%.

## What it is

The reading portion of a cardiac stress test. A physician goes through the ECG tracings recorded at rest, at each stage of exertion, and in recovery, together with the blood pressure and heart rate response, the symptoms reported, and how much work the patient managed, then writes a formal report on whether the pattern suggests the heart muscle is not getting enough blood. Nothing about running or supervising the test itself is included here.
