# CPT 92235

> Medicare paid $110.64 for CPT 92235 in the office (non-facility) setting and $110.64 in a facility under the Q4 2016 Physician Fee Schedule, effective October 2016. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2016, when it decreased 0.4%.

## What it is

An imaging study of the retinal blood vessels using fluorescein, a yellow dye injected into a vein in the arm. As the dye travels to the eye, a camera takes a rapid sequence of photographs that shows the dye filling the vessels, revealing blockages, leakage, abnormal new vessels, and areas the blood supply has failed to reach. The clinician then interprets the image series and writes a report. A related study swaps fluorescein for indocyanine green dye to image the deeper choroidal layer instead, and a third code covers doing both dyes together.
