# CPT 92025

> Medicare paid $37.53 for CPT 92025 in the office (non-facility) setting and $37.53 in a facility under the Q2 2020 Physician Fee Schedule, effective April 2020. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2020, when it decreased 2.7%.

## What it is

A scan that maps the shape and curvature of the cornea, the clear dome at the front of the eye, and produces a color-coded map of steep and flat areas. The patient looks into a device that projects rings or light patterns onto the eye; nothing touches the eye and no drops are required. The map reveals irregularities that a standard glasses measurement would miss, such as the cone-shaped thinning of keratoconus or distortion from scarring or previous surgery. It is a separate diagnostic test rather than part of a routine refraction.
