    "description": "An examination of the angle where the iris meets the cornea, the drainage channel through which fluid leaves the front of the eye. Because that angle cannot be seen directly, the doctor places a special mirrored contact lens on the numbed eye and views the structures through it. The findings show whether the angle is open, narrow, or closed, and whether scarring, pigment, or abnormal vessels are present. It is a distinct diagnostic procedure done in addition to the eye exam itself, not part of a routine look at the eye.",
