# CPT 77300

> Medicare paid $67.34 for CPT 77300 in the office (non-facility) setting and $67.34 in a facility under the Q4 2021 Physician Fee Schedule, effective October 2021. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2021, when it decreased 0.8%.

## What it is

The physics calculation that turns a treatment plan into actual machine settings for one beam or treatment area: working out how long the beam must run, and how much dose reaches a given depth or point, accounting for the beam energy, field size, distance, and any wedges or blocks in the path. A physicist or dosimetrist performs it and the radiation oncologist reviews and signs off. It is the routine per-calculation unit of radiation physics work, distinct from the physician planning that precedes it.
