# CPT 77002

> Medicare paid $110.07 for CPT 77002 in the office (non-facility) setting and $110.07 in a facility under the Q4 2020 Physician Fee Schedule, effective October 2020. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2020, when it increased 6.8%.

## What it is

Live X-ray imaging used to steer a needle to a target inside the body - for a biopsy, an aspiration, an injection, or to place a localizing marker. The fluoroscope gives a continuous moving picture so the operator can advance the needle in small steps and confirm its depth and angle before anything is injected or withdrawn. It supports another procedure and is reported together with it rather than by itself.
