## What it is

A one-time injection of local anesthetic around the femoral nerve in the groin, numbing the front of the thigh and much of the knee. It is usually done with ultrasound so the needle can be walked up to the nerve under direct view. This is the single-shot version - a companion code covers threading a small catheter to keep the block running for days after surgery.
