Starving the target of blood shrinks it, kills tumor tissue, or reduces the size of an overactive organ. Within the embolization family this is the tumor-and-organ version, distinct from the codes used for vascular malformations and aneurysms, for veins, and for stopping active bleeding. The angiographic imaging needed to map the vessels and confirm the result is included in the same service.",
