# CPT 29828

> Medicare paid $944.56 for CPT 29828 in the office (non-facility) setting and $944.56 in a facility under the Q1 2021 Physician Fee Schedule, effective January 2021. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This is a 1.3% decrease from the previous quarter.

## What it is

Reattachment of the long head of the biceps tendon to the upper arm bone, done through arthroscopic portals rather than an open incision. The damaged tendon is released from its origin inside the shoulder joint and refixed lower down, taking a painful structure out of the joint while preserving the muscle's pull. It is the keyhole counterpart to the open version of the same operation.
