## What it is

Shoulder surgery through small portals with a camera, in which a torn rotator cuff tendon is pulled back to its footprint on the upper arm bone and secured, usually with anchors set into the bone and sutures passed through the tendon. The distinguishing feature within the shoulder arthroscopy family is the cuff repair itself, as opposed to trimming tissue, shaving bone, or working on the biceps or labrum.
