# CPT 28285

> Medicare paid $552.41 for CPT 28285 in the office (non-facility) setting and $387.94 in a facility under the Q3 2015 Physician Fee Schedule, effective July 2015. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2015, when it increased 0.9%.

## What it is

Surgery to straighten a toe that has buckled into a permanently bent, claw-like position. The bent joint is addressed directly, by removing part or all of a small toe bone, fusing the joint, or a combination, often with a temporary pin or implant holding the toe straight while it heals. It is per toe, so correcting several deformed toes involves the procedure being performed on each.
