# CPT 26055

> Medicare paid $567.07 for CPT 26055 in the office (non-facility) setting and $316.43 in a facility under the Q3 2015 Physician Fee Schedule, effective July 2015. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This price has been unchanged since Q1 2015, when it increased 1.3%.

## What it is

A small operation on the palm side of a finger or thumb in which the tight band of tissue holding the flexor tendon down is cut, freeing the tendon to glide again. It is a release of the sheath, not a repair of the tendon itself. The procedure is typically done under local anesthetic through an incision of a centimeter or so.
