# CPT 17313

> Medicare paid $646.57 for CPT 17313 in the office (non-facility) setting and $319.22 in a facility under the Q1 2023 Physician Fee Schedule, effective January 2023. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This is a 0.1% increase from the previous quarter.

## What it is

The first round of Mohs micrographic surgery for a skin cancer on the trunk, an arm, or a leg. As with the head and neck version, one physician removes a thin layer of tumor, then acts as the pathologist, mapping and reading the frozen tissue during the same visit so any remaining cancer can be pinpointed. This code differs from its sibling only in the body region treated; additional layers on these sites are reported with their own code.
