## What it is

Application of a manufactured or biologic skin substitute, a sheet of engineered or processed tissue, to an open wound on the trunk, an arm, or a leg. The dressing is trimmed to fit, secured over the prepared wound bed, and left to encourage the wound to close. This code covers the first block of wound surface treated on a relatively small total wound, with separate codes for additional area and for much larger wounds, and a different set of codes for the face, scalp, hands, and feet.
