# CPT 11602

> Medicare paid $253.67 for CPT 11602 in the office (non-facility) setting and $163.30 in a facility under the Q1 2021 Physician Fee Schedule, effective January 2021. These are the national allowed amounts before the ~2% sequestration cut and before locality (GPCI) adjustment. This is a 0.1% increase from the previous quarter.

## What it is

Full-thickness surgical removal of a cancerous skin lesion from the trunk, an arm, or a leg, taking a margin of normal-looking skin around it. The family is graded by how wide the lesion is, and this member sits in the middle of the range, above the smallest lesions but below the larger ones. Body region matters too: separate code ranges cover the face, ears, eyelids, lips, scalp, neck, hands, feet, and genitals.
